We’re making great progress in planning out the first stages of our co-op. In addition to finding our “core group,” we’ve now set a meeting date and location for our second meeting for potential member/owners and the general public to attend.
At this meeting, we will be gathering support, sharing information about what a co-op is and what it can do for our community. We’ll also be asking for volunteers to fill open spots on our committees. Unlike the first meeting (which should be small, say under 20), we hope to get 100 or more members of the community to attend this event. Expect to see ads in the newspaper and flyers around town in local business windows.
Many thanks to Tony Burns for his help in securing the location, and to Brian Watson for planting the idea. (Note: even though this meeting is happening at a church, the meeting and co-op are not affiliated in any way with any particular church or religion.)
Here are the details for our second meeting:
Sunday, Feb. 24
2:00 to 4:00 pm
Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (www.kuuf.org)
4418 Perry Ave NE, Bremerton (map)
Open to general public
I’ll send out an agenda closer to the meeting time.
