It’s probably obvious that eating locally is important to us if we are also all interested in starting a co-op. And I keep hearing from folks through my email, “did you know about this spot that sells local eggs?” or “I heard years ago that someone has a local vegetable selection...”

You can imagine how happy I was when I finally found this map that seems to show all the small, local sources of food in the area. As a newcomer, I wasn’t always sure where to follow up on these leads I would get for local food, and what about when I travel somewhere else? This map is the solution!

So until we get our co-op up and running, and try to pull all these resources together in the same store, you can use this map to find some of your local, homegrown food. Google is a wonderful thing, indeed.

Yum! I can’t wait to try these myself. I have a craving for raw honey this morning at Honey Hill Farm. (Look for the yellow arrow on Illahee Road near Port Orchard Bay.)
